ABOUT KARAKI DESIGN LAB
Kara, v.
to earth up
In Khasi, “Kara” means to earth up — to tend to what already exists.
It reflects our belief that when you nurture something with care — give it air, light, and room to grow — it begins to reach its full potential.
In the same way, we see design as stewardship: uncovering the essence that already lives within your business or project and bringing it to life through thoughtful design and storytelling.
Based in Shillong, we work at the intersection of culture, design innovation and storytelling, crafting thoughtful design solutions that reflect both identity and intent.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Whether you’re
a business owner,
a student or
a community leader,
we build for people.
Our work spans across brand idenity, visual communication, creative strategy and cultural design projects, along with workshops, talks, and open design challenges that build creative capacity in our community.
We help our clients translate their vision into visuals that feel personal, enduring and grounded in context.
We are not just a studio. We are a lab of ideas — a space where conversations become concepts, and community becomes inspiration.
